Been watching news most of the day about Santa Fe, Texas (near Houston).
Andrew Pollack, the father of Meadow (murdered at Parkland, Florida, on Valentine's Day), told the news anchor that he is no better now, 90 days later. There is nothing one can say to bereaved parents to make them feel better.
Nonetheless, he intends to go to Texas to offer support and hugs . . .

There Is No Road in the Desert

I am patient . . .
You are lost in the desert of your heart and mind, yet, somehow, you are with me in your own small way. I understand solitude and what it does to a man. It eats away. Your thoughts are muddled. Your affections are divided.
You hate me. You love me. I am no stranger to internal confusion, even despair.
I await your return.
I am patient . . .

Nice thought for the day ...
by neat blue dog injust thought i'd share what i found in my fortune cookie.
(i know, fortune cookies are inviting demons, just like lucky charms cereal 😜) well actually it's more of a proverb, like most of them are nowadays:.
"as one grows to understand life less and less, one learns to live it more and more.".

Thanks, neat blue dog:
I agree. Your quotation brought this one from Bertrand Russell to mind:
"One of the painful things about our time is that those who feel certainty are stupid, and those with any imagination and understanding are filled with doubt and indecision."

Have a VHS of it from the old days when you could copy a tape off the televised version.
I recall from my research that the bombs were actually cylindrical, not spherical.

Thank you, humbled!
Yes, I'm feeling a little thirsty, even in my metaphoric desert.
Wishing you and yours a happy day.

Awaiting your return, I grow restless.
Do you remember the times we shared -- the laughter, the tears, the memories?
As if it never happened, so long ago has it been.
Will you come back and reminisce about the life we once knew?
Wondering as I do if ever I'll know love and its sweet perils again . . .

I Went To My Brother’s Memorial Service at the Kingdom Hall
by minimus ini have to say that the talk was very good.
instead of just repeating a jw manual , the speaker actually spoke about my brother!
there were a few scriptures with the jw hope but 80 % of the talk was actually about the life of my brother.

Good to hear, minimus! Glad it went well for you.
I've been to a few memorials where the deceased was remembered, above and beyond the script.

What really happened around 1918 when WT leaders were imprisoned?
by dubstepped ini had never thought about this until just now when i saw that nathan natas posted some early tract from rutherford, and it made me think back to what little i could remember of the history i was taught.
i now know that in most cases the dubs will spin stories in their favor.
so i'm now assuming i was told some fictitious story about what happened when the leaders were thrown in prison and things looked bleak for the cult way back when.

Knorr and Franz were happy that he was no longer at New York but far away in some nice house on the opposite coast where the weather is good practically all year. -- Brokeback Watchtower
Thanks, BW:
That's exactly what I read, come to think of it, in The Four Presidents, by Edmund Gruss.
